Citroën finally becomes REAL Citroën

1934

The first models of the legendary Traction Avant are launched. 7A, 7S, 7B and 7C.
Citroën is bankrupt, and Michelin which is the largest creditor, takes control of the company.

PROGRAMME   FOR   1939

Four years have elapsed since the front-wheel-drive CITROËN was introduced into this country.  Since then, continuous advancements in constructional details and general refinements have been made, and today it has attained a perfection of design that puts it far ahead for many years to come.  Appreciation of the wonderful safety and stability of the CITROËN is now widespread.  The 1939 models are the consummation of four years of successful production and offer the motorist a remarkable union of advanced design with established practice.

André Citroën dies 56 years old of cancer.



1936

All Traction Avant models gets improved steering.



1937

11 is renamed 11B, and 11 Légère 11BL.



1939

15-Six, Traction Avant with six-cylinder engine.
7C Eco.
250 prototypes of the 2CV is made. But because of the war apparently all but three are destroyed, to keep the model a secret.
TUB, utility vehicle that can carry 850 kg.




1948

2CV is finally introduced.
H, van that can carry 1200 kg.



1949

HZ, van that can carry 850 kg.



1951

2CV van, utility vehicle that can carry 250 kg.



1952

All Traction Avant gets expanded luggage compartment.
