It is not a problem to live with an asynchronous gearbox, and you do then not need
to lend the car to anybody. And I got to thinking about something I read on
this website:
«A car with a manual transmission literally
needs you in a way an automatic doesn't. Like the bond that a horse
and its rider form when things are in sync, you, too, will feel the pleasure of
the relationship that develops between you and your manual-transmission car.»
The person who wrote this should have tried an asynchronous gearbox;
then he would really feel the ties tightening.
Another thing — when I'm catching up with cyclists, it's not uncommon for me to have to downshift,
and with all this violent throttle; Do they think I'm angry? Maybe I should roll down the side window when
I drive by and shout that I'm not angry?

What is written on this page is based on my experiences with TRD1. Maybe it will be different on other models.
The synchronization rings can be damaged if you use the wrong type of gear oil.
Maybe this oil can help with poor synchronization?
