Function
Normally the hydraulic system will
deliver pressure
to the front and rear brakes, steering (Diravi) and suspension (height adjustment).
THE SAFETY VALVE will at
low pressure
of the hydraulic system shut LHM supply to suspension and rear brakes,
but not to the Diravi. It will at the same time switch on the STOP light.
With even
lower pressure,
the LHM-supply to the Diravi will also be closed.
Then only the front brakes will get pressure.
And if the pressure is completely gone, you only have the hand brakes left
(which you probably haven't bothered to keep in working order;), along with a VERY heavy mechanical steering.

Replacing
Before replacing the safety valve loosen the bleed screw AND remove the pressure on the brake accu.
