CX

— nobody above, nobody beside

1974

Citroën has financial problems, which leads to the merging between Automobiles Citroën and Automobiles Peugeot.
Citroën is not shut down (but the SM shall disappear!!!), but will eventually become Peugeot cars with Citroën-logo. Fortunately, the biggest models are allowed to keep the hydraulics.
GS Birotor.
CX 2000 is launched, developed just in time before Peugeot takes control. The last real Michelin–Citroën; the last model designed by a completely independent Citroën Bureau d'Etudes. Later (in 1985) transformed to Peugeot inside and partly outside. (Otherwise nothing bad said about Peugeot, it is a good old brand.)

1975

CX 2200 Diesel.
C-matic (semi-automatic gearbox) on CX 2200.
CX: "Car of the Year", "Safety Prize" and "Car Styling Award".

Inside, it's just the steering wheel, the console which the instruments are placed in and the location of the ignition that is left of the character. Outside the fine bumpers disappears, replaced by plastic. But still there is only one windscreen wiper, hydraulic leveling, air suspension (stiffer), Diravi (unchanged), and just as powerful brakes (eventually with ABS).
