MASERATI

Maserati began in 1914 in Bologna, Italy, with racing as main interest. It was changing ownerships over the years, and in 1968 Citroën bought Maserati. During the Citroën ownership it was produced some models with Citroen parts, and Citroën made its own SM with a 6-cylinder Maserati engine.
Bora (1971) was a two-seater with a mid-mounted V8 engine and Citroën brakes. The hydraulics were also used for raising/lowering of the lights and the driver's seat and adjusting the pedal position.
Merak (1972) was a two plus two-seater with a mid-mounted V6 engine (the same as the one used in the SM, but three liters) and Citroën brakes. Steering wheel and dashboard were also in the beginning the same as in the SM.
Khamsin (1973) was a two plus two-seater with front-mounted V8 engine and Citroën brakes and Diravi and hydraulic clutch.
In 1973, Maserati was taken over by the Italian government, and it was then several owners, amongst others Fiat and Ferrari.
